So here's what is bothering me! Am I paying to much tax?
I have a sodastream machine and need to buy the SodaStream CO2 Carbonator Refill that costs 35.99 this includes a $16.00 dollar core charge for the empty tank.Sometimes in the pricing you will see 19.99 for the gas and 16.00 for the tank. I have a empty bottle that is returned when I purchase a full one.
I am being charged tax GST & PST on the 35.99 price but not reciving the tax back on the core charge of 16.00 ?
Its like I purchase the whole refill so pay full tax and recive 16.00 for the empty.
So who has reason them the stores or moi the consumer?
What do you think? and thank you for your feed back. This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by bluerose; Fri, Feb 20th, 2015 at 06:53 AM.

I know the same thing happens with car batteries when you pay a $20 charge for the core - and pay tax on everything. When you return the core, you only get $20 back.
What I do know, it's not any company that decides what is taxable or not, it's the government.

my hubby recently bought a soda stream too and has been looking around town on refilling the CO2 bottle. He found a local paintball that does refills for cheap - no shipping etc. Check your local businesses.
