I believe since it is a bilingual country they are required to, otherwise they can be sued for discrimination. :/

I've never been refused but a lot of stores do not have bilingual staff hence it can be a bit daunting at times. I tell them I speak French and I make it known that I know the rules of using coupons including fraud.

Yes, French coupons can be used anywhere in Canada since it is one of our national languages. I always make sure to have the translation written down with me in case the cashier can't understand it. I am in no way bilingual, but I know just enough of the basics to get by when reading a product or coupon. Hope that helps

They should be accepted, but no store HAS to accept any coupon if they don't want to. Many people can't be bothered to try using them because it's not worth the hassle.

I have no problems using French coupons in Ontario.
