Birthday Party Brag!

Our son's sixth birthday is tomorrow, and for the first time, he's having a children's party and inviting his friends from school. Nine kids!

I've bought a lot of prizes for games on my travels over the last year as I find something neat (and cheap!), so we'll have lots of great prizes for games. Loot bags are pretty cool (if I do say so myself) and contain real toys that I picked up on clearance! My mission today was to get most of the food for the party for very little!

Cashed in points at Shoppers and Superstore, and among other things, I bought these items for the party:

Hot dog buns
Hot dogs
Ketchup, mustard, relish
Chips
Fruit Tray
Chicken Fingers
Juice Boxes
Soft Drinks
Ice Cream
Butter (for cake icing)

I made him a Transformer-themed cake using cake mixes, making icing to decorate it, which made for about a $10 cake. I didn't have to buy a $30 one!

I'm pretty pleased with myself!

-wow see who said you cant do cheaper birthdays -I once had a friend that did every other year a birthday for her small kids -not me when mine were little I did the same as you look thruout the year for small toy deals -and nice you made a cheaper cake -I am sure he will have a great 6th birthday
