Does anyone know how Canadian tire money is given out? Like if I spend $5.00 how much Canadian tire money is given to me, what is the percentage? I have searched but can't seem to find anything.

Ya I find it confusing, I just noticed that they had an offer in the flyer giving 50x the e-money.

All I know is ever since I signed up for the card I'v been getting less canadian tire money on my account..I spent over $100 on backyard patio furniture stuff and only got 2 CENTS??? in paper money I would have gotten much more..something is wrong...
I decided to just throw the card out and cancel my account and go back to using paper money.

I think it depends sometimes what you buy. I've spent $60 and got 45cents, another time I spent $82 and got 30cents.

I spent $120 something on a day that we received 20x extra and received $14 and change in CT money on the card. It was my M/C for CT if that makes a difference?

There is definitely some glitch. Two cents for 100 buck is no way justified by any formula. By the way, does anyone know how the tire money is calculated or any idea about the formula? My recent experience fueled my curiosity. I spent about $75 and I got just 4 cents. I thought, I didn’t go through the terms and condition properly and there must be some explanation for my disappointment. Now, I came across more users stating the same trouble. I need to know about the formula or whatever method they use to calculate tire money. Anyone?

From the CT "Money" program terms and conditions:
"The rate at which eCTM can be collected may vary from time to time and by location and is subject to change by Canadian Tire without notice. In addition, you may collect eCTM at a different rate if you pay with a Program Credit Card than you would if you use a My Canadian Tire 'Money' Card (or Cardless Method). Please call 1-800-226-8473 for current rates."

From September article in the Toronto Star:
"Customers who pay using cash or debit can continue to collect Canadian Tire paper money, at a rate of about .4 per cent of purchases. Beginning in October, they will be able to use the paper money to pay for automotive services. "
