I love Ricki's - I find the quality in stores (even the $$$ ones) is getting worse and worse, and Ricki's uses better fabrics IMO. Not that sheer, nylon stuff.

Kitchener is closing. Go figure they're still planning on opening a brand new Cleo's there in a few weeks. If Ricki's didn't make it in that mall, Cleo won't either.

I wish the purchasers/buyers would bring back two short-sleeved tops from 2007:the satin blouse with the huge white polka-dots on red or black fabric and the black and silver striped shirt (it looked great under a jacket). I'm not fond of the sleeveless looks of recent years or as xox2010 said, the sheer nylon fabrics of late in many other clothing lines in other stores.

But sleeves cost money!!! And add time to garment manufacturing! I'd love to see sleeves!

According to a comment made by Ricki's on their facebook page, all the stores that will be closing have been removed from the store locator page.

That's too bad. My very favourite skirt comes from there.
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

Sewing magazines (BurdaStyle & Threads) are good places for sleeved tops/ideas on sleeve alterations.
It's not just sleeves; it's the mid-thigh hemlines on dresses too. I saw the trend last year on K-pop stars and the style has gone mainstream. Not warm enough in Canada for that (unless there are warmer people who want such styles).2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

I am just appreciative of all of the sales, online or not, that they are coming out with. I am trying to build a workplace wardrobe on a grad student budget in the case that I do not get a scholarship for a PhD, and it is a tremendous help to be able to combine the seasonal sales with the increased promotions they are offering.

SquareOne location is closing by the end of this month. Last time I check everything 30-50% off original price. Final sale.
I guess the rent make it non-profitable? It's a busy location.Last edited by Decaf; Tue, Apr 14th, 2015 at 04:50 PM.
