I surprised dbf with a guitar he's wanted for years for xmas, but after I bought it (back in august- on sale of course) he mentioned that his long distance best friend was getting an xbox one for Christmas and they wouldn't be able to play online anymore because he only had an xbox 360. I told him I already had his gift, but we would see if they went on sale in a few months. Meanwhile I've been stockpiling my pc points (only from things I would be buying anyway, I don't buy stuff just to get points) and waiting for a tax free day to get him one as a surprise. A couple of weeks ago the day finally came, but I didn't have quite enough points to cover it completely $400, I had $320 on my card and $60 on his, but I wasn't sure if I could use both sets of points in one transaction. Much to my surprise when I got to the store they had one of the assassins creed bundle left from before Christmas, and it was on sale for $369.97!! Comes with two download games that he wanted anyway. A great savings since the regular version with no games was the same price!
I asked the cashier about using points from two cards and she said it was no problem, but she didn't know how to do it, so she brought me up to customer service. It was a bit of a wait since it was crazy busy there, but it was so worth the wait.
The cashier was in shock by how many points I had and called over a young man working near by to see my 'amazing' total. She said to the whole line up 'people don't think these points add up but look at this!' one man even congratulated me.

    Reg price: $399.97+ tax = $456
Sale price $369.97 tax free (savings of $86.05)
    Redeemed $60 from dbf's card
    Redeemed $300 from my card
    Oop: $9.95!!! (penny rounding)

plus bonus of a very happy bf!

I wasn't sure if they would let me, and I didn't really want to combine the cards, because I heard you only get one set of offers between you, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I do also have a pc mastercard but I only use it for groceries and my paypal account. I actually redeemed $60 in points not that long ago! I've had some great offers like 10,000 for every $50 spent, I always use offers like that to stock up on things we use a lot of - like cat litter - ill find a sale and price match at no frills... We have 10 rescue cats so we go through a lot!
