Much better than the crappy 1.05 % Tangerine is offering.
I am transferring my money there today ..from Tangerine.
You HAVE to call in to get that offer , its NOT automatic...but its a 2 minute call , so NO big deal.
Just mention the promo, & they already know about it , its on their website too. This thread is currently associated with: Spring Shoes

thanks for posting, but the period is only for 3 months, providing you confirm to them you want to participate. I guess for sizable deposits that would be beneficial.

it annoys me that I have to call them to get the incentive. At least tangerine just applies the increase with no action on my part.

Just called and activated the offer. The rep also looked at my accounts and said I could earn even more interest if I switched to their other products. No credit check required. I am happy. Trying to convince DH to transfer more money to PC but he is still wary of the no bank, no tellers thing.

Transfer the money anyways..while keeping your existing Bricks & Mortar bank still open.
If you really require a physical bank & teller , you can always transfer the money bank to your physical bank on that paticular day , when/if that physical need for a teller arises..in the meantime park your money at a higher rate at PC Financial.
So both you are happy & he is happy .

ok so I signed up to play along today BUT when the CS rep was reading the legal details and such she said that the deposits had to be made by May 15th to be eligible for the 2.6% rate. Kind of sucks for anyone that has their pay going in automatically, the only pays earning that new deposit would be those going in up to and including May 15th. sigh...
not sure if this was talked about but when Tangerine had their last 2.5% promo from Jan - Mar 31 2015, they paid the interest each and every month during the promo period, but PC gives it to you just once at the end of June, so there is no getting interest on the previous months earned interest?? Does that make any sense??Last edited by walkonby; Sat, Apr 4th, 2015 at 08:09 PM. Reason: typo

Yes, compound interest is a wonderful thing.
I don't think I'll be signing up as I have a 2.1% interest offer for Tangerine (check your emails). It's a limited time offer for three months, so for me, it's not worth moving over to PC for $1.67 per $1,000 (or much less in my case ).

I just checked up on this offer and it is fine until June, and then the interest rate drops after that. As well, if you go with a TFSA, which I personally think is the thing to do, the interest rate they offer is 1.05%. Now that is not so good as compared to some others banks.
