I've got 2 dogs...a Bichon & a Pomchi and they both know who their master is lol....thankfully they are obedient.

my 2 shih tzu's were never trained or anything and were late to the whole " socializing " thing with other dogs, so they think they are the Cat's meow around here! Now Hamlet is an odd cat, he truly believes he is equal ( well actually superior ) to the dogs and comes over when ever I call them. When I try to hand them a treat after their walk, Hamlet pushes his nose right in and insists on sniffing it first! Claudius ( other ginger cat ) tolerates him at best.
So no discipline whatsoever, the mutts bark at everything walking by the house, the cats claw their posts to shreds and when we are not looking they have damaged throw carpets, backs of chairs!!

My golden retriever, Cinnamon is pretty obedient and listens well... my dane, Mia can be a bit of a handful. She listens to my husband 99% of the time, but she often gives me attitude. Mia also thinks she is a small lap dog, so she is always stepping on my feet or sitting on my knee. You also can't walk through the house at night without the light on, or you risk stepping on the deer antlers they drag around the house.

I use to have a large aquarium with several fish (tetras, catfish etc). You can't really train them, however one of my cory catfish wasn't too obedient when I cleaned the tank. Most of the fish would move to the other side while I siphoned the gravel. One cory (named drama queen because of it's behaviour) would dart around my fingers as I cleaned. Made cleaning the tank a little more difficult lol. Very dramatic catfish. It didn't like it's home cleaned too etc.

I guess our Jenny would be classified as very obedient...never chews on anything except her rawhide chips and sticks, always comes when called, gives hugs and kisses when I ask her...and even when I don't, lol...Oh. She does bark at "shifty" looking characters outside when she's in her chair looking out the window...she classifies anyone who walks by too quickly as shifty. If they stroll slowly she keeps a sharp eye on them in case they do quicken their steps until they get well past our house. Anyone on a bike is also on her hit list and receives the full weight of her disapproval. Oh. And mail persons and garbage collectors! I try to tell her they're not stealing our stuff, but she doesn't believe me.
But she stops fairly quickly when I ask her to....right, Avon? Lol!

Lily dog is perfectly obedient & is a master at training guests to give her half their meal when anyone comes by for dinner (her chin on the edge of your knee, big brown I'm-starving-to-death puppy dog eyes batted at you - no one can resist her charms). She knows more words than I realize she does & speaks (listens in?) English, Hungarian & various hand signals. She is also happy to help out around the place.

Quincy cat is - and this is my bias showing - the best behaved cat I know. He doesn't scratch anything but his scratch box/post/thingy. And tho he's technically not allowed on furniture without permission (same rules apply to doggies & kitties around here, unless they are guests ), he has on rare occasion been seen hiding amongst my stuffed animals on the top of the couch (perfect camouflage - I didn't spot him til he thought I wasn't watching & jumped down). Usually he obeys the no cats on the leather couch unless the human is present rule. He also does dog tricks, knows to lay the charm on thick when we're out & about, but will play the mean ogre at home (this is my place, get out, while I run & hide under the bed ).

Tory fish is no longer loyal to me. He moved in with my Mom to keep her company, and LOVES her. He still touches noses with me through the glass, but is obsessed with my Mom & knows the difference between her and any other person (if he sees her in the distance, he will swim to the side of the tank closest to her & watch her, even if I'm right beside the tank).

And, yes, I would be the only (sane?) person to have a fish that does tricks.
