    Hey SDM experts,

So we stopped in at a SDM while we were out of town on Sat. and picked up the new WiiU Splatoon game (hooray - ). Only to realize we were overcharged by $10. Price on receipt is $69.99. So, that said, what's our recourse? The store is out of town. Can we bring it to our local SDM?? Should we do the email to SDM head office??

    Thanks for any tips,

I would talk to them on facebook first on their facebook wall, not in private message. They seem to take instant action when someone has bad experience and shares the experience publicly.

OR, you can call sdm reps and tell them everything. May be they will add atleast 8000pts=$10 in your account.

First step would be calling the store that you purchased it from and see if they would be able to help you. How far away from the store are you?

I agree with calling the store first. Here, we have to go to the store where the problem is to make an adjustment or return.

Also don't forget because they over charged you, you get $10.00 SCOP so really they owe you $20.00!!!

SDM are franchises in most cases ..so returns & exchanges & price adjustment's are really hard at different stores.

When it comes to electronics its even worse, SDM has one of the strictest & worst policies when it comes to electronics. They won't even take a fully sealed , unopened electronics with a receipt for a refund in most cases.

I find they overcharge 3 out of 4 times. Last time I phoned the store, kept the flier and returned to the store a month later. Unfortunately it was a redemption but they were going to give me 8000pts and cause I was decent about everything she gave me an extra 5000 pts.
But really it isn't the stores fault, they just download the new prices. Headquarters is at fault.

    Thanks for all the tips!

The store is about one and a half hours away, so a 3 hour drive for $10 ($20 if I push the SCOP), is not really worth it. I'll give the store a call and see what they say. Maybe I can take a pic, and scan / email them.

    I'll post with results.

    Thanks!

Did you pay with credit card? They can refund you the money electronically if you did. But yes, call the store, they may mail you a gift card for the value

The $59.99 price was a misprint and most stores have a memo up saying the actual retail price was $69.99.

Where do they display these memos? What is Shoppers official store policy on pricing and memos? I think I've only seen one memo since I started shopping at Shoppers two years ago.

It was $59.99 the previous week
It came out on the 29th ($69.99) and on sale the 30th to the 5th for $59.99.
I bought it on the 30th the sat and got 20x
So it would be scop as the sign up from the previous week
