I just wanted 2.Does a cashier have the right to do that? Maybe it is manager decision or supervisor. They are 1$ with 7$ insert coupons and pc points at Maxi and people abuse since 2 weeks...even if coupon state 1 per person???.....So annoying to pay for the bad apples of couponners.

If the store gives rainchecks then no they don`t have the right to refuse you one. Go to customer service and ask for the raincheck.

Here some stores don't give rainchecks - Loblaws stores.
Or, other stores as well if it's a weekend or one day special, for example.

Perhaps the store has had an issue with that product and the cashier is following instructions. Stores can refuse to accept a certain coupon for various reasons, and they can also refuse to write a raincheck for a variety of reasons too. Its often a case of a few people ruining something for everyone else, and there may be nothing you can do.

Cath007, I would go to customer service at the Maxi, you want to collect those points with the sale, plus use your coupon! My daughter went to maxi yesterday morning (right when they opened) to get 2 warmers and the cashier said that the product was a popular one and sold out fast.

But at this point Maxi should know the popularity of the offer....It is there for the 3 weeks now starting again for another week, they dont change the pc points and the so why dont order sufficiant stock? Just my th ought.I am sure i can have a raincheck if I dont use coupons.

Rain checks are only given if it is a product they always carry in stock and if it is in their flyer. If it is in the flyer and says no rainchecks OR while supplies last then they are not required to give you one. They also have the right to limit quantities if they do give you a rain check. As far as PC points go you will not likely get them using a rain check. It depends on the store.

Did they give you a reason for not giving you a rain check? It certainly doesn't sound like they are following the usual policy for shortage of product. Glad I don't shop there. What I stated above is normal for the Independent grocer I work at. (loblaws)
