Growing up, my dad would be the one to say "go ask your mother." I don't remember playing them off one another, but I likely did if I was trying to get away with something. My dad is the easy going one and mom is the strict one.

At my workplace, there's a husband/wife tag team that would often tell their common manager opposite versions of a single event. The manager concluded it doesn't mean one of them is lying; it means BOTH of them are lying. I later found out she's right about that.
