I live in the small town of Chambly, on the Richelieu River in Québec. This is a very historical town where lots of battles were fought, the principal one being sometime between 1776 and 1783. There is a fort, Fort Chambly, on the Richelieu River, which is downstream from Lake Champlain in New York State (hence the battles between the french, the indians and the americans. This summer the town of Chambly is celebrating 350 years! What a milestone! How many other towns or cities in Canada can say that? I know Montréal is celebrating 350 in 2017.

How wonderful, hope you enjoy all the festivities!
Saskatoon is only 133, though the area was inhabited 8,000 years ago...

That's great, it must be one of the oldest communities in Canada. Have fun celebrating.

This weekend, part of the main street was blocked off just to the Chambly Canal and an International Festival was held, dancing, food, music, etc. Also there was a Fashion Show down the main street, fireworks in the evening, some Québec singers and songwriters, etc. Tons of tourists around this weekend. It was exciting but also a headache the the locals. We get lots of tourists during the summer because of Fort Chambly and the Chambly Canal. Americans come down from Lake Champlain through the Locks and Canals.
