Tonight DS has baseball so since the game is so long and he is always hungry I will make him a homemade lunchables. We have kobassa (splurge from the flea market) pickles, cheese, crackers and fresh cherries. I will bring my thermos with hot water and a tea bag. So no timmies for us when someone run out to get it.

Note to fellow hockey moms (or dads) I bought a tall travel mug/thermos at CT (well redeemed CT $ on the card for it ) Since it's nice to have a hot drink while watching the game we would slip out to grab a coffee etc since we had to be at the arena an hour before game time and sometimes it was up to a 2 hour drive to get there it was a treat. Now, I fill my thermos/travel mug at home and bring what I feel like (herbal tea or reg tea and a little container of milk) and I make my drink just before the game. The water is still piping hot! Its crazy. So now I don't have to drink terrible arena coffee or pop out to Timmies!

Today I saved money by opening my mail to find out our car insurance dropped $20.43 a month which was a nice surprise...also received some coupons and 2 FPC's.

I'm saving water (and time!) today. It has been raining all day so I don't need to water my garden and pots! Tomatoes, peppers and broccoli are happy!

I have a water barrel that catches rain water. So I can use rain water all the time.

Today I made strawberry and strawberry-rhubarb jam so I don't have to buy jam all winter long.

Today, DH and I went out for supper to celebrate the BIRTH day of OUR NEW GRANDDAUGHTER! We used a GC that we had been given for Christmas!

We have an unfinished basement, but to make a cosy, "guest" room, I have hung quilts up on the studs. Looks very "homey" and then the rest of the basement can be in "disorder" without overwhelming us.

    Me too! (Me three?)

I also made a free LD call to the US using Google Voice instead of using my LD calling card. Two calls actually - because at one point I was on hold for 2 minutes when they were transferring my call but no one answered so I had to call back

    Thanks for this thread!

finally used up the last pkg of vermicelli noodles ( who knows how long this has been in my stockpile? )
coated the wok with a combo of sesame and coconut oil and sauteed carrots, chopped cabbage, green onions from our garden pot, and lots of celery tops ( leaves )
blended in the softened noodles and smallest bit of soya sauce to flavour along with sauteed shrimp.
Mmmmm, should do well as a side dish for dinner later.

Went home and made lunch. Youngest DS was invited to go with his friends family to the beach so filled his belly with lunch then packed him snacks and drinks and beach toys! Now I'm back at work and he is having a beach afternoon

Spent $10.00 on a bunch of DVD's this morning, kept the 3 I really wanted and resold them this afternoon for $10.00 but the lady gave me $12.00 instead.

I checked a receipt from the dollar store and noticed I was overcharged for 2 of the 4 products. It's in the parking lot at work so went back the next day and got back 1.80!!
Also used 2 print coupons and a coupon app at SDM so I got a new razor and shave gel for 1$!

At work last night DH found a quarter on the floor and a work buddy gave him a Stouffer's pin for me.
