I am the worst with impulse buying. Everytime I walk into Costco to get 2 things I come out with way more than I had planned.

cancelled my gym membership, this was long overdo and such a relief to just let it go. I was only going a few times a month and with the nicer weather I can get back on my bike and ride for free.

I know that it's too old school but I have decided to do the 52-weeks money challenge.

I always over cook most times it works out that dh & I have leftovers for lunches but if it's something my ds1 with the hollow teenage leg likes well then it's a wash (haha).

I've been baking every time I use the oven it serves 3 purposes
    1. healthier lunch snacks (muffins, cookies and squares)
    2. not buying as much lunch snacks for 3 people 1 day which are expensive (5 per box @$1.99 on sale) which is = 3-6 snacks per day
    3. reduces the 20 minutes of waiting the oven to warm up as it's already at the right temp from previous cooking etc.

I hang my laundry to dry, we heat with wood only all winter and the clothes dries in no time as dh build me a drying rack which hangs over the woodstove

We use re-usable containers for lunch snacks, I have some that fit the homemade muffins perfectly and other for crackers etc.

I put all my leftovers in glass anchor hawking containers I have 4 different sizes
2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

I guess it's the fact that there should be an increase on the money that you will put inside your savings account/piggy bank every week. I am just on the third month of the money challenge but I feel so broke already. LOL.

A little late posting this but I picked up eggs for $1.77 on the weekend at SDM. Hard for me to get to the SDM that sells food for the weekend sales but had some good offers and decided to upend my schedule and make the trip. Go through a lot of eggs so I appreciated getting them for that price!

We have been eating every left over. No food is getting thrown out. We're facing some hard times and are getting very frugal. In Dave Ramsey's words, we're becoming Gazelle-like!! lol We high 5 everytime we use something up, eat left overs ,etc, and say Gazelle! lol Yes, dorks, but it's making it fun and it's nice to see DH realizing that we really need to scrimp right now.

Love the SDM egg deals. I always have at least 2-3 dozen on hand. Tonight I will fry eggs for the rest of the week for quick English muffin/cheese and egg breakfast sandwiches
