Threw a polite hissy fit and received 100 airmiles

I examined my airmiles credit card statement and was shocked to see an new 120 annual fee this month when I knew one had been levied in June. I added that to being upset about BMO reversing 500 airmiles and decided to call and complain. The fee was removed and should be investigated and they are reinstating 500 airmiles plus an extra 100 for my trouble. This took 3 minutes of competent complaining.

I am happy with the outcome, but I am worried about the other people who might be getting two annual fees three months apart.

good eye! That is what we all have to be, diligent to double check the lines of charges on each and every credit card, every bill etc. Loved the bonus AM they gave you.

No that is not a typo, its 120 dollars per year. This card has great travel insurance, entrance to airport lounges, and a 25% reduction in the number of airmiles required to fly. If I fly once this year, and I intend to next month, the card pays for itself. I often pay 60 dollars in insurance with each flight. So it made sense for me this year but I will evaluate every year its usefulness. If it is a year without any travel, then this card is indeed too expensive.

all the companies getting so sneaky with extra charges, increases in fees, always need to check monthly statements. credit card companies are just like thieves, if they can get away with stealing hidden extra charges - they will do it. it is good that you caught them and sorted it all out.
