Bonus points not recognized by cash register

Just some info if bonus points (personal and in-store) are not showing up on your purchase.

Yesterday, I purchased several items which had both types of bonus points attached to each.
By chance, I asked cashier to test scan a couple of items to see if points come up. They did not.

She tried a second cash register, bonus points showed for 1 of the items, but not the other.
She commented that this register is hit-and-miss.

She then tried a 3rd register. All bonus points showed up. She said this was the 'good' register.

On another somewhat related note, I had issues with using gift cards. They seem to 'catch' and cashier is always quick to say there's no money on it and wants to discard it. It needs to be swiped several times or tried on a different machine and it finally works. Makes me wonder how many gift cards get thrown out with money still on them.

Insist they punch in the number if it won't swipe. They can do it manually as well.

I don't throw away my gc until their computer screen shows that i have 0 balance in it. It's real money and i don't throw away my money.

But about winnie's experience: what is going on with sdm these days? it didn't happen to me yet but i am hearing strangest things from all over the world...i mean Canada....ummm..i mean SC. Lol

I don't think sdm knows what's going on with sdm.

Yeah some of the card readers suck and the GC won't slide through it smoothly. They seem to prefer to try it 49 or so times before they resort to punching in the number lol, but they have that option.

thanks to crazy registers i was able to get a scop on the 2.99 purex last weekend...
registar 4 was charging 3.99 for purex ,
registar 2 was charging correct price of 2.99
