Thread: Pics My Tomatos
-
Sun, Sep 13th, 2015, 10:49 PM #1
This is what i picked from my 2 cherry tomato plants today. Plus another 60-70 bright red ones already in the fridge. We have already eaten so many over the past month & given away several bags full. Will place these is paper & store in the basement. Everytime I use my slow cooker or make a stir fry I toss in a cup of diced green tomatoes and they turn out really good. Any suggestions what else I can do with all these ones?
Thanks

Oh Arvilish! I am laughing but also sad for you. We have only the one very large cherry tomato plant out back and it has produced enough to give us snacks or to add to top our salads but nothing as grand as Elle Lady Sadie's harvest!
Congrats E. L. S. on your tomatoes!!

Trade/barter ? ..... It has worked for us for a few years.... we had a fantastic crop of plums -- traded for pails of blueberries ..... Right now we have a few hundred pounds of pears and preparing to trade some for other stuff we'll use - as well as cold storage for some and canning some.... It's been a fantastic growing year out here too

I have a load of green tomatos (I think they're vine tomatoes) on my plants, and I'm sure the frost is coming... Anyone have good recipes for green tomatoes that aren't bitter or sour? Thanks! I love these, that is so many little tomatoes!!

Awesome! I didn't know 2 plants can produce so many tomatoes but then i read @Arvilish 's post and realized that you are truly blessed with very healthy plants. Not everyone gets that much produce out of only 2 plants. Lol
