When I lived on the farm I wasn't troubled by allergies but once I moved to the city to go to school I developed ragweed and mold allergies that hit me hard every time I went back to the farm. If you are exposed to allergens every day, your body learns to deal with them...but when you are able to escape them for long periods, when you face them again, your body goes nuts.

An friend of mine grew up with cats and never had a problem with them. He lived away from cats for a year and became highly allergic to them (asthma attacks). He became a cat owner again and he is back to normal.

Some people can overcome their allergies with exposure. When I lived in the city I became a hard code antihistamine user. (I couldn't wear contacts otherwise.) Now I live across the street from a naturalized area and I don't even think of taking pills.

I agree with you lecale. I am not going to lie, I still take pills to help me when I am desperate to clear an infection that just wont go away. But, I am trying to go natural as possible. With my UTI I did try to do it the good old fashion way by drinking lots of water, cranberry juice and other natural remedies. It helped a bit, but, I still needed medication to clear it. I have suffered with asthma as a child, and, I agree. When I was up north away from the city totally fine, the moment I come back to the city I was grabbing my puffers like they were candy.
