I don't eat many donuts either. When I was a kid, I rather enjoyed an apple fritter, chocolate timbit or a sour cream glazed one. Nowadays, if I happen to have one, I can usually taste the shortening and it spoils it for me.

^ I love lemon ones, too! Actually love any type of filling in bismarks.
Husband really, really misses dutchies - he doesn't eat many sweets, and those were his go-to.

I will not go out of my way to buy donuts .....but if any donuts happen to land here it is because of DH, ( a weakness of his ) and I will partake only so he does not feel bad!!
I can actually take or leave donuts ( other things not so much ) but it must be because I have a negative association with Tim's donuts now.
When I was working whenever the management had any bad news to deliver they did it in a conference room and supplied boxes of Tim's donuts to ease the pain maybe? and clear their consciences?
Plus when we celebrated b'day's or other career milestone's for employees the staff always provided them AND also at Pot Lucks, coworkers that did not cook would bring them as their contribution.
So yeah, got old and tired real quick! ( the donuts!! not me! )
If I had to pick a favourite it would be Boston Cream. I love the chocolate that is on top, but I do not care for donuts where the batter is chocolate like in some of their double chocolate kinds.

So here, since Tim's has gone downhill, Robin's is the alternative franchise where the doughnuts are a tad better.
However, one is MUCH better off going to any of the many local bakeries we have to get not just doughnuts, but a variety of baked goods.

When I was a kid, there was this small restaurant that made homemade apple fritters. I can still imagine the taste....mmmm
i used to like some of the Tim Hortons donuts, but now I find they are all just flavourless and sweet.....just be happy
