Does anyone here have experience in this field. Considering taking an online course through canscribe so that I could work from home while raising the children. Does anyone have experience?

Canscribe is a good school, good reviews. When I was going to take Medical Transcription, I took the Medical Terminology, and Business English at Algonquin, in Ottawa, Ontario. This program was offered via distance education. Each course was pretty pricey.

Wimbly whatever YOU decide you want to peruse, ask the dean of that department what the hiring rate is of the graduates "in that field". Find something that you're interested in, that way you'll maintain your enthusiasm...no one else can make that decision for you.
    Good luck!

i did not go to school for medical transcription but did it while i was in university for a local company then after a short time i was able to take my work home. Had to build a good rapport with the employer first. I also did transcription for a local tv show production. Again, you come pick up the CDs or digital file then transcribe using MS office and email back to them. I found both jobs through local advertisement in the newspaper. A girl I used to work with did medical transcription from home; she got work from out of the country - everything done online. Don't remember if she went to school for medical transcription or not.

They have a 95% employment rate within the field, within two weeks after graduation. Which seems pretty great to me! And it seems interesting. I think I would enjoy it. I have no doubt it is a fairly repetitive position, but it would help me accomplish my dream of being a stay at home mom
