They won't work. They'll just be a splattered mess. I tried with corn dogs once and, predictably, they ended up gross and not at all like actual deep fried ones.
What kind of donuts does your husband like? I own a donut pan (like a muffin tin, just with donut-shaped wells) and it's the greatest thing ever. I make cinnamon sugar donuts in it and they're a huge hit, but will also be trying double chocolate glaze and funfetti ones.
You can also make yeast donuts in them but I haven't tried that yet.

any successful desserts made in an Actifry? I got mine a couple weeks ago after attending an event this Summer by T-Fal and I haven't been able to try it for dessert yet. Very intriguing!

Mia, I honestly can't see making donuts ours....however, having said that, IF the dough was stiff enough to hold together in one layer....ah, why not just BAKE them?

That could help if you're making yeast donuts that will hold their shape! But cake donuts will still be out, since they're a batter and not an object until they're fully cooked.
I hope if anybody has that basket they give it a try and let us know.
