I'm looking to purchase a new cell phone...need advice please !

I really hope you're kidding. The only time they'll give a "free" SIM is if you're buying a phone from their kiosk, and then they MIGHT deduct it from the cost on the invoice. It's an inventoried item that they have to account for back to the carrier. Otherwise they'd be handing them out like candy, to anyone who asked and there wouldnt be any left for when they actually DO sell a phone.

The only other time you MIGHT get a free sim is if yours is defective for some reason, and you'll get one from the carrier themselves. But then it's going to be a replacement SIM for the one you have, not one that now happens to be smaller to fit a new phone.

Go to Costco....those folks at the phone display stand will give you a free SIM if you ask nicely / bat an eye lid or two, or have an exotic accent
