DH came through this chemo with no nausea and not nearly as fatigued. We have booked our hotel in London next Wednesday for our Thursday meeting with the oncologist.
It's supposed to be a rainy weekend. I am going to try to sneak over and help set up our garage sale at the church if tomorrow is as good as today for DH.
It's always fun and good company.
Doggie is LOVING his new anti-allergic food- much to the surprise of the vet who says it's really bland. NO human-food treats until we find out why he's scratching and chewing at himself so much. We also got him some "chill pills" to help calm him down.
Well, folks, it really helps me to "talk" to you and know we have kind thoughts coming our way. You are all so lovely to us!
A special that's to Lynn who set this thread up and is such a constant friend!

Sometimes they work pretty good I hear. Glad you will be staying at a hotel in London, You won't feel so rushed. There's nothing worse then feeling the angst of an appointment & feel like you're on a time crunch.
Good luck with that garage sale.

Thanks, Loocie! Everything is set up. I got a few early "buys" - porch railing planter - $2. Two cute hand made "witchies" for Hallowe'en made from porch railings - $2.00 2 pairs of really soft pillow cases with satin trim - $2.00 2 planter holders - $5.00 -
I brought home a couple of child chair cushions to wash as they had stains - will take them back in the morning.
Got rid of some queen sized linen - which will go to our Syrian Refugee family - 2 garbage cans with wheels because the city replaced everyone's garbage cans to correspond with new garbage truck machines.
Spent time pricing stuff and had fun chatting with folks I hadn't seen in a while.

It sounds like your DH is starting to tolerate his treatment a little better, that's good to hear. Is he settling in to have a double header today? Jays at 1, Raptors at 3? Guess I just outed my plans. lol I hope that you both are able to find some relation this weekend.

Methinks I hear a Raptors game - I could have sworn it was a Blue Jays game only a few moments ago! 😆

Hello folks! Things went fairly well at the meeting with the oncologist.
What we are learning is that we are "building " a battle against an enemy that is very shifty and nothing is really predictable until you are right into the fray.
Generally things are going well but we may be adding more chemo rounds before a break.
Dh has low platelets so a transfusion is in order so that we can go ahead with round 4 as scheduled next week.
The predicted "break " will be of unpredictable length - depending on how long and how far the cancer "backs off."
They did a chest x-ray today and it was good.
The doctor did say that it might be okay to visit our grand-daughter for her 1st birthday in July "if everything goes well in the next few weeks. " (See what I mean about "fluid?")
Take care, friends!Last edited by avoncallingu; Thu, Apr 28th, 2016 at 10:49 PM.

One thing with cancer & all it's tricks, it sure is a constant companion. It seems to me like your visits with the oncologist are going well. Your DH is an inspiration to me. So glad to hear that the chest is clear.
I send good weekend wishes to you!
