Hello, I am sending wishes your way. So sorry about the food poisoning. It really is brutal isn't it? I had it recently too & it was not at all fun. I hope you enjoy the weekend & take in some warm temperatures.

Thinking of you both this morning. It's going to be a very nice day.I'm noticing how much doggy slobber are on our back windows. It's a good day to clean windows, I think I will suggest that to my DH. I wish I had some magic suggestions on how to conjure up some extra energy.

@avoncallingu depending on how low your hubby's potassium is he could end up eating a barrel full of bananas in order to make a dent in bringing it up. My Aunt battles low potassium and takes slow-k from Costco, 1 pill is the equivalent of eating 6 bananas. Has your hubby's Dr's advised him on taking potassium pills at all?
Just a suggestion to maybe talk to his Dr's about his levels and taking something like slow-k as it may be easier to make sure he gets his potassium via pill form with him not having a steady strong appetite.
I'm thinking of you both always.

Tara, great advice...I take ApoK, a potassium supplement that we buy off the shelf at our drugstore, at RCSS...well, at least I 'took' it while I was on Hytrin, a "water pill" which depletes potassium, but since losing almost 30lbs, our Doc took me off that and now I'm off the ApoK as well.
So yes, absolutely, it's an important part of getting enough potassium into our bodies.
Good morning, Avon!!!
Dropped in to say, "HI!" and wish you and your Hubby a good week...I believe this is a treatment week for him?

Avon just popped in to say hello. Hope the increasingly beautiful weather is helping to increase your spirits. And how about those Jays! I am sure your husband loved today's game.

Hello folks! Thanks for the advice about potassium. Yes, the doctor has prescribed potassium pills. I have been having "dreams " - more like disturbed dreams about counting out pills and missing something. Oiy!
Today was a pretty good one for dh.
We took doggie to the vet today - he had to have follow-up vaccines and the Dr. wanted to check out a growth on his back leg. Apparently, it has grown significantly since she saw him 3 weeks ago. She still thinks that it is just a fatty mass but has recommended that it be removed. Bottom line, he's scheduled for surgery next Monday.
So more wishes for doggie asked for. Thank-you, friends!Last edited by avoncallingu; Mon, Apr 18th, 2016 at 09:15 PM.

Yes, Tara- he's a real Jays fan. Also Raptors - that's the "click-to -in-the-commercials " channel backup when I am watching one of my favourite shows.

Good luck to your dog who is having surgery Monday. I hope it goes well. My friend's dog had a huge growth removed from one of his hind legs. The thing almost dangled. He was nearly 12 when the did this & he did just fine. I think he was even happy the thing was gone.

The surgery for doggie has been backed up until Tuesday, May 3 so that we can be with him when he gets home. (Next week, he would be having the surgery Monday and then we would be in London on Wed. and Thursday so we put it off for another few days.) Thanks, Loocie, for the info about your friend's dog. We are hoping that is exactly what happens with Jesse.
DH has been doing well for the last couple of days - wanting to eat and comfortable. Chemo tomorrow and then to see the oncologist again next Thursday. Then one more round of chemo before a CT scan and a rest from chemo.
We had visitors today for a while - nice talk.
We have booked a night at a lovely local hotel to celebrate our 12th anniversary and the end of this regime of chemo. I think I might have a little shopping to do.
Thank-you EVERYONE for all of your constant support, prayers and kind thoughts!Last edited by avoncallingu; Tue, Apr 19th, 2016 at 10:37 PM.

A trip to the vet may make your dog feel insecure. Just administer extra hugs.
