Well, I've been computer-less for the day, but am back up and running!
Computer would start, but nothing happened... and I couldn't figure out what else to try.
So being ever-so-frugal, I called my sweet son and he came over. After a few hours, he had it all done. Thank goodness I wasn't paying a computer technician prime rates to do it - I just 'paid' in a really good supper, and I'll be giving him food and goodies to take home.
Our computer really is past it's prime - we got it many, many years ago and it was refurbished even then - so any time Milan can save it and get it working again is a super-bonus!
So the men are just having a talk and I'm catching up on everything I missed all day in the world!
Hope you all have a good evening!
YOU AND ME, sure hope your wrist is feeling better!

Good morning! Looks so nice and sunny out. I can't believe I didn't go out at all yesterday. Will go to rcss today just to get out! Well I better get up and continue laundry and then coffee! Going to dig in the freezer and pull something for dinner and a few other things and cook at the same time for dinner this week. Then I'm not cooking as much during high time and it's a time saver.

I could totally skip shopping today and we could make it through the week no problem. Dinner is a pork roast, potatoes, gravy and green beans. Have leftover garlic bread from Friday night for the boys. But I need to get out lol. Won't really buy much but take a look around and see what if any deals I find. I may tackle another cleaning job ( not just the regular everyday stuff). Maybe totally clean out and organize the linin closet meaning toss crap we don't need!

Good Morning Just going to put in another load of Laundry and finish my morning routine. Then I think I will head out for a walk. Want to spend another hour in the Computer room cleaning and organizing papers, 1 hour in our bedroom sorting through clothes and 1 hour in the basement organizing. I find if I set the timer for 1 hour as soon as it goes off I stop and move on. Seems to be working for me. I've lost 10 pounds since Jan 1st by doing this, not eating after 6 o'clock , having Oatmeal for breakfast everyday except Sunday ( On Sunday I have whatever I feel like for breakfast- a nice treat for myself and family ) and drinking more water. Which is easy when I'm cleaning as carry a water bottle with me Well I'd better giddy-up. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone

Good morning, everyone.
Hope all is well.
Computer is cranky these days, sorry for being awol. Been a crazy couple of days getting ready for my trip (why oh why did I put away the summer clothes??? ). Still debating what to take with me - the other day it was hotter in Toronto than in Nevada, go figure. Lots of layers seems to be the way to go (think I might need a knapsack to shlep stuff with me as I wander in and out of casinos, so I can add or remove clothes as needed).
Brats know something is up, but I haven't filled them in on the details yet. No sense in getting them overly excited ("Woohoo, no rules, no cranky roommate telling us what to do and making us work for our treats" ).
Better get back at it, the closet is a mess (doesn't help that a certain roommate of mine has taken to sleeping in the closet - wouldn't be so bad if he didn't keep stealing clothes from my suitcase to use as a blankie ).
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good Morning Everyone,
Woke up just after 5 and said nope, not doing 5 am on a Sunday so I went back to bed till around 7.
I have officially got the Kitchen clean, I am thinking of cordoning it off with a do not use sign so it stays clean.
We bought some rice we are not liking, it always comes out clumped together and mushy so I decided to try baking it. Still not perfect but the best attempt so far. I have no issues with it but Mom still thinks she make it better.
Now I have a small roast in the oven, Mom used part of it for a stir fry on Friday and I am now baking the rest off to use for sandwiches for lunches this week.
Once that is out I will make some apple oat muffins for lunches this week as well.
Think I am going to try to post some stuff for sale, need to clear more stuff out but lately with how busy I have been I have not really been bumping and making an effort to sell things. Since I am going to be home every night for the next 2 weeks, this week I am in a commutable branch and next week I am in my home base I can be around to put out pick ups.
I am also working on cleaning up my room, even if Mom goes out of town next week I won't be able to build my bed (so cannot build a queen bed alone) but I can build my dresser which is so needed. Back on Black Friday I bought a bunch of sweaters (my treat to myself) since I only had like 3 or 4 which were showing their age but now I have too many to fit in my drawers. When did dresser drawers get so small??? I love my dresser but the drawers really are not that deep so I can only go like 3 sweaters deep.
As well I want to work on my stockpile room.
I have decided for both the stockpile room and my room I am just going to go at my own pace and it will be done it is done. I am done putting pressure on myself.
Everyone have a great day

Where does the weekend go. Used my Esso points for a car wash, so nice to have the winter grime off my car. I had some good success with groceries today spent about 80.00 between Fortinos and no frills and scored 22000 points. I also went to Sobeys and all my 50% offers worked. Thanks to Angela I tried again. I used a gift card I bought last summer and had zero out of pocket as I counted it in the grocery budget last year. I found a new recipe for muffins today so plan to use up a couple of sad apples. I am really trying to let nothing spoil.

Put the pork roast in the oven at 3 and peeled the potatoes. Then decided to make chilli! It's simmering on the stove. Will take for lunch tomorrow and freeze in single meal portions. Don't think either kid will eat it but will try to get them to try it. Didn't buy much for groceries but did buy clementines and snap peas since they were nice and fresh and a good price. As well as the beef on sale at valu mart since I had PC PTS and a GC

Was away at a church retreat this weekend. It was great seeing families in our church connect. The good: fun at the waterpark and good preaching. The bad: ummmmmm a bunch of parents got kicked out of the hallway for being too loud by hotel staff (not me though!) The ugly: DD#1 was glutened and we spend 2 hours dealing with vomit (but she is okay).
Hugs to online friends."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

Got everything I wanted to get done in the kitchen done today and oh yes it is still clean.
The baked rice is in the fridge to be used later
Roast is the fridge and a Sandwich made for tomorrow's lunch
Drippings from the roast in the fridge for use later
Yogurt I made 2 weeks has been portioned in Food Saver bags and is in the freezer
Apple Oat Muffins made and wrapped for lunches this week
I didn't get anything done in my room or the stockpile room but that is okay.
Having a nice peppermint tea and working on Mom's sweater
Have a great evening everyone.

Having relaxed all day yesterday, I got busy today-groceries, laundry, paperwork, baked muffins, company in the afternoon. Just cooked the dragon noodles recommended in another SC thread for dinner-yummy. I had to improvise a bit as DH had used the siracha chili sauce while I was away and I did not realize I needed to replace it before I started cooking. Anyway it all tasted good and was a nice change. I was shocked to see 3 tiny clementine oranges in a bag for $1.59 at Co-op-seemed overpriced to me. I found lots of other good deals though to restock fresh fruits, vegetables and meats.

@SassyAshley could you ask your bro to come and break up that teak unit while your mom is away? this way it would all be done and over with and you could tackle that room, just a suggestion.
Sometimes I think it's best to tackle tasks when the other person may feel overwhelmed BUT then they are relieved that it has been dealt with - just my personal experience.
sounds like you were very productive, great jobLast edited by jasperandchar; Sun, Feb 7th, 2016 at 07:39 PM.
