Greece should have maintained their Olympic swimming facility so residents would not do tax dodges by not declaring their own pools without registration. Even though I don't swim, I want to see this Scarborough complex!

I actually did it on Tuesday May 3rd!! Took my bike out to see if I could pedal to the pool and back and it worked splendidly! I cycled with not much effort ( only 1 tough uphill spot ) swam for 2.5 hours and cycled back home. The entire venture took me 4 hrs ( I can afford to lollygag in the change room now, no worry about the parking time running down ) and since the weather was both sunny and breezy it was wonderful! Hope every trip on the bicycle turns out as good.

soon my 3 month pass I bought is expiring ( it was an experiment to see if I would actually commit to going every day ) and I am very pumped to buy at least another 3 month stretch....maybe even a 6th month one. Today was THE most inspiring swim ever! I was able to do more laps of front crawl at top speed ( well, MY top speed....ha ha ) from end to end without feeling breathless. Mixed in many laps of slower breast stroke then returned to the front crawl over and over. What a feeling!

FYI.....I was told today by a fitness specialist that all my efforts of swimming each day is not going to build any muscle??
wah!!!! That is hardly fair!
Keep doing it though I was told for heart health ( cardio , lungs ) but seems I need to shake things up ( on land , as in a gym ) if I want to get my metabolism going again, and to start building up muscle
I've been wondering why my weight loss has stalled but good grief, I did not want to go down that road! Phooey!!Last edited by walkonby; Wed, Jun 8th, 2016 at 06:33 PM.

Walk some laps around the pool building? If there is a slight hill, that helps too. Make sure you eat something before swimming or walking-good old heart needs energy before it keeps you going! Especially on warm/hot/muggy days. Heck sip some pop or Gatorade G2!

ty @Ciel today was a full morning and afternoon dedicated to fitness! I started slow in the gym though ( intimidating in there with all that machinery ) I did 10 min on 3 different machines, then 15 min various stretches ( keeps my Physio gal happy), a few modified squats and 15 min of brisk walking around their cushioned track. After that I had to dash to FB to grab those free raspberries! Then I returned and did 25 min med speed lane swim followed by a 50 min Aquafit class, I was beat! I always thought Aquafit was not that tough but it was challenging! Yep about the water!! I sure needed some after all that.

I'd be ok as a guest visiting a gym but long-term, a gym is not my favourite place to walk or to do physical things. All that metal and grey interior design aggrieves my eyes. See if you can mix up outdoor exercise with gym in tandem with swims so you get your sunshine quota in! You managed to swim during all those dark hours in winter-time to get that sun!
