Yes it is hot in Europe. They dominate the market over there like Tide does here. Europe went to HE machines long before we did over here, so a lot of people went to import stores to get this stuff just for its HE performance. It contains hi-tech enzymes like Tide does too.

Starsky's in Hamilton was carrying the original Persil since it opened, but I have noticed this month that Persil in liquid formats is popping up in most grocery chains.
