I was at my local Walmart earlier this week, and I was told by one of my favourite cashiers that effective immediately, Walmart will only allow you to price match an item OR use a coupon on the item, not both. This completely took me by surprise, so I asked about it. She said the cashiers had just received new coupon training. She then showed me the employee binder at the cash register, which stated this new policy inside.
Now, with the Walmart coupon guidelines always being YMMV, I'm just wondering if anyone else has come across this recently? I'm still really surprised by this. I was allowed to do price match + use coupons one last time because I didn't know about the new policy, but how was I supposed to know? I think I'll drop by customer service next time to doubly confirm that this will be the new rule at my store. Hoping this is just one store's policy, and not all of them! Still very much a bummer though. I price match RCSS, Loblaws, etc. that aren't right nearby (and even stores that are, so I don't have to run to more stores than necessary!) and using a coupon alongside the price match is always the best deal.
I wish Walmart Canada just had one unified coupon policy!

Woops, meant to put this in the deals section! But I guess it goes well here too.

That is ridiculous! It makes more sense to go to the store with the sale and use the coupon then which would defeat the purpose
