CBC just announced that the USA has been DQ'd.........so it's still a bronze for Canada !!!


Wouldn't that have been crazy if both Japan and USA were DQ'd lol

I am soooo confused! The U.S. was DQ'd giving Canada the Bronze BUT they still have not addressed the Japan runner who clearly stepped over the line while running?? Their DQ could now mean Canada would get SILVER!!!!

o.k thanks redhdlois. ^^ I was reading some tweets on line and someone said that what Japan did was not an infraction they can be DQ'd for. Something about crossing the line on a straight a way as opposed to doing it on a curve and also about if it gives your team an unfair advantage?? So I am still bewildered about the rules......

They showed it on CBC......they have to exchange the baton within a certain distance and US screwed up on the first exchange

Athletics Canada ✔ @ath leticsCanada For everyone asking, Japan stepping on the line in the straightaway is not a disqualification unless they impede a competitor.
