Thought It Was a Misprint But, Nope, It’s Not!

When I saw the advertised price and offer on page 9 of the Sobeys (ON) flyer, I thought it must be a misprint. It lists Powerade 710mL bottle @ 3/$5.00 and you earn 50 bonus Air Miles for every 3 you purchase. I know that 50 Air Miles = $5.26 value. It had to be a misprint but I decided to check it out by buying some and, nope, it’s not!

I bought:

24 x Powerade 710mL @ 3/$5.00 = $39.86 (don’t know why it’s not $40.00) + $5.18 tax = $45.04

I earned:

8 x 50 Air Miles = 400 bonus Air Miles
2 x regular Air Miles
For a total of 402 Air Miles = $42.30 value

$45.04 (paid) - $42.30 (value earned) = $2.74 (which means Air Miles even paid a percentage of the tax!) for all 24!

@lotsasavings , that subject line got my attention right away "thought it was a misprint..." Thanks for the post! I've noticed some occasional great air miles deals at Sobeys and Metro when you buy a combination of various products but I missed that one.

I bought all 24 in one transaction and my receipt shows 400 bonus Air Miles (24 bottles = 8 x 50 Air Miles = 400 Air Miles).

In my experience, Air Miles from Sobeys purchases take about one week to be added to my account.
