Momof5boys, my prayers to you and your family during such a difficult time. Waiting can be difficult but you are wise to take it one day at a time.

Oh, Momof5boys! I'm so sorry to hear of your husband's diagnosis! As people here know, my dh was diagnosed in January with an advanced form of pancreatic cancer. I know how devastating that can feel. Emotions are whirling and considering all the consequences just overwhelm. Faith can provide a good support - don't resist ANY help that friends and family can offer. You're facing many challenges, don't forget that YOU need care, too.
Caring for extended family is also such a challenge when it falls unevenly on family. I don't know what kind of family care is available from your province/community, but Canadian Cancer Society can probably give you some suggestions.
Is there, perhaps a hospice in your community which could offer you some respite in the care of your mother? Accommodations there can be temporary for those in need of immediate but not long-term care. (At least at some hospices.)
Prayers offered for you and gentle, healing thoughts sent your way!

I am being lazy and just relaxing in bed while DH catches up on well-needed sleep. He didn't feel very good when he went to bed last night.
I took our little Sadie out for a walk about 9. Poor little thing, she couldn't make it across the driveway to the field before she had to pee! Such a tiny bladder! I am going to have to get up earlier! She didn't do anything inside, though. She just slept very nicely on her bed outside her crate last night. Not a peep during the night.
I am going to try to get that closet, bathroom, laundry room organized today. Got some storage issues for tools, hardware, cleaning products.
But I may just have a snooze first.
I will be dreaming of floating on pink marshmallows and helium balloons and Barbie-Doll cakes! Have a great party, Lynn!

Had a very lazy day yesterday as I was quite tired. Today I went out for groceries at No Frills-got quite a bit for $60-they seemed to have some good deals this week. Finally settling back to a routine after 2 weeks at home-I have also been working about 3 half days per week and my sister is here visiting from Buenos Aries-2 of her 4 kids leave on Tuesday so I will visit more with her next week before she returns home just after labour day. She and I are doing a 3 week South America/Antarctic cruise in January so that should be a blast-back to the old days when we used to share a bedroom when we were young-in this case it will be a ship cabin. We also love to play Scrabble together. Both our husbands say they are cruised out-a concept we don't understand since we won't have to cook or clean for 3 weeks and will see some beautiful sights!
DD is busily taking online drivers ed-Nice if she could get the online portion finished before school starts and start her driving lessons. She has been invited to visit her best friends family over Xmas-they recently moved to just outside New York City. Even though she is 17 we said she could go. I can remember flying alone to England to visit my grandparent's when I was 15. We found her a direct flight to Newark, New Jersey -she has travelled a lot and I am sure she will be fine. The only wild card might be the weather at that time of year! It will be strange not to have her home at Xmas but...It would have been cheaper for her to fly on a connecting flight through Chicago but we don't like the potential risk of her being stranded there overnight.
CG-so happy for you looking forward to the arrival of your grandsonLast edited by lizzie bargain; Sat, Aug 27th, 2016 at 12:21 PM.

Lizzie, that cruise sounds like a lot of fun, a bit jealous of your travels. I am hoping this year we will be able to go somewhere new! I was uninsurable last year because my meds kept getting adjusted and that is a huge deal when getting travel health insurance. Fingers crossed nothing more needs to be changed!
Well I am on the home stretch of renovating, I have been at it since May. I have ripped out all of the flooring and hauled it to the dump myself. I had all of our window and baseboard trim replaced and I have painted all three levels of the house, walls, closets and trim. I am painting the last of the 27 doors today. Not sure if I would undertake such a project again, it was a lot of work , I am anxious to start decorating, on to the fun stuff soon I hope!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend, Coupongirl that baby will be here before you know it!!

I am sorry to hear. I will keep you and yours in my prayers. You have a lot going on right now.
I remember her paying off her credit card! I don't remember the other. Definite tear worthy.

I am having a lazy day at home, but it started with a 45 km bike ride so I already accomplished a lot. DH is volunteering all day and the older son (maybe he can be big teen) has gone into Toronto with his friends. I am trying to remain calm.
I need to get a load of laundry hung to dry and maybe with luck I can get two loads done today. That means moving though.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.
