Over the last few days Ive been in a depressive period. Ive been lashing out and crying and not being myself. Last night I went on twitter and posted about suffering from depression and how it hurts and ruins lives and How I felt all alone......and people contacted me to let me know they were there for me. I had a priest tell me to email him if I needed to vent, people I thought hated me told me they care about me. Sometimes when you are at your lowest point, you find out who really cares about you.

I am so happy to hear you say that. Often people don't reach out and may never learn how many people out there actually do care and are there for. I hope that it helps you out of any rut you may get into moving forward. Cause that is the biggest thing moving forward. Look ahead and don't look back.

It felt good opening up. My friends haven't been available to talk to lately and I felt so alone. This made me realize I am not alone

With SC around, you are not alone. The first step back to the light is turning towards it. Even little steps take you forward. It is a terribly lonely place to be depressed. Hugs to you!

My internet friends have been by far the most supportive people in my life..From here through Fb and other places..They've held my hand when I needed support but also kicked my butt when I needed it.
Hugs {{{gryphon}}}..I hope everything is getting better for you.

Yesterday I went to see my therapist. I really needed that talk and it helped me a lot.

Oh Gryphon! So sorry to ear that but very happy to know that you did reach out. Good that you see a therapist as counselling is a awesome way to move ahead. NO, you are not alone. I did have a moment in my life were I was depressive too and did what needed to be done to help me also. Lots of peoples do get depressive but don't admit it as they are afraid to be judge. Keep up the good work and lots of hugs too.....................................

Like a lot of people, I do too struggle with depression. It's very hard. And for those of us who go through, or are going through or have gone through it, we understand. What is hard for some of us, is accepting that not everyone does get it. That those who love and care for us, sometimes simply don't know how to understand. And that's ok too. The best thing you could have done, you did. You reached out and asked for help. I know for me, that's a really tough thing to do. I attend a group on occasion, a lot when things aren't so well, but I know it's there. I'm not sure if you have any connections to groups like that - where it's a non-commitment thing - that you can just drop in whatever day, but your therapist might know. I know it can be awkward to talk or share in groups, but after time it, for me, it became more comfortable. Baby-steps!

So glad you seen your therapist and have found comfort in reaching out to your friends.
I also suffer from major depression and other mental illnesses and I can certainly relate to some of your feelings, etc.
Hope things turn around soon but don't be shy to request another appointment. Also hopefully they can tweak your meds if needed. Also some people build up an immunity to certain medications for example I can only stay on anti=depressants for a year and then need to switch as they no longer work.
It's a journey and please know you are not alone2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!
