Yes, if your Metro is not fussy since I imagine many will refuse the coupon on the $1 item and some are not taking printables according to multiple threads

True - I got rejected yesterday with the printable coupon

my metro takes printable coupons (I used a 3$ flamingo), but doesn't carry alpha bits

a little annoying that some do and some don't- you never know what you'll get....

Might be worth contacting Metro. I did and they said they accept printables (they told me they did, but only save.ca printables) so now I can show my email if they fuss.
