I've got to say, my last two week stay at the South Calgary Hospital was amazing. I hear so many people complaining about hospitals these days, but I had exceptional care. I got taken on as a new patient with a Gastroenterologist (no waiting for a year to see a specialist (my old Doctor retired). During my last stay I had 5 specialists on my case. The ICU held a bed for 3 days ( the head of the unit saw me every day for five days).
I was able to get 4 CT scans, a colonoscopy, had blood sent to USA for special testing and an MRI. I'm going back in on the 29th for radiation treatment. I felt so well cared for and the HCA's RN's, LPN's and Pharmacy team were all amazing. Everyone worked diligently to bring me back from what was the brink of death. I'm so thankful to everyone at this hospital. You truly are my angels.

Holly, I am so glad you had great care at the hospital in Calgary. It makes all the difference in the world when a person is really sick and gets the right kind of help, support and treatment.

My loved one got very sick about 5 months ago and was in the hospital for a good stretch. His Dr. was just excellent, but let me tell you some of the nurses were absolutely useless. Now the nurses that were more than excellent really helped make the stay so much easier. Some nurses are there for the paycheck and some of the nurses really do care. Believe me, it is hit and miss. May I say also, it is the same way with doctors, some care, others don't.

Good healthcare is such a blessing. Glad to hear you are receiving excellent care--it makes such a difference. It can be scary too when your dr. retires isn't it. A lot of drs. are staying in practise longer due to the shortage.

What a nice testimony about that hospital. It certainly makes a difference when we actually fell we are being well taken care of. We are all so very lucky to have health care in Canada ( compared to so many poor countries around the world ). wonderful to hear your feeling better than 2 weeks ago. best of luck on your recovery. may all believers whom read this post pray for healing to occur within your body. Peace.
