Oy! Oh, I'm just so very sorry you are having to go through all of this!
You are strong and brave to have gotten through all of this so far, and I'm sure your determination will get you back in action as soon as possible.

2 1/2 years for me, Charger, but they're much fewer than last year! And they have a shorter duration and maybe they're a little less painful, sort-of like a short, sharp stab that only lingers for a few minutes.
Ah, the things we don't know until they happen to us, huh?
Did anyone mention loss of sensation to you?

Thank you, everyone, for your good wishes and thoughts... think I'm half way through all of this... time will tell... I've lost 65 pounds so far, quit smoking, had my last smoke while laying on the ground waiting for an ambulance... Am writing a letter of complaints to the first hospital I went to, went to 3 different hospitals in that first 24 hours, but have huge complaints about the first.
Lyn, for loss of sensation, I have none in the foot other than those awkward nerve pains. Have to keep an eye on that foot because of my diabetes... and don't have a lot of feeling where my 82 staples were in my leg, and where the 12 stitches are now...

Wow, that is bad but first. Welcome back as it is nice to see you again. We never know what can happen small or big accidents. I was 2 feet from a wall got push by 2 little one that wanted to give me a hug and I had a bad brain surgery and left with chronic head, neck, shoulders and harm pain. BUT IT IS NOT CANCER and I am still alive.
I know it was and still is a hard time to go trough. Hang in there and take good care of yourself.................................

Sorry to hear what you've been through. Glad you are feeling well enough to post--you've been through a lot. Nuts the things life throws at you out of the blue sometimes. Hope you are getting good care now and that your recovery goes well.

Hi, RNC...well, in one regard, you're lucky not to have lost any sensation!! Wow, good for you! To this day I can't walk barefoot on any flooring because it feels as if I'm walking on gravel...and I have no sensation along the outside of the leg I broke from the knee down. Honestly, in that way, you're so lucky, Sweetie!!

Oh my goodness! That's an impressive battle wound. I hope things heal up quickly and you're back to where you were before the fall before you know it.
If you were hoping to achieve all the other effects like quitting smoking and losing weight, congratulations! If not, I see a lot of pie in your future, and that's not half bad either!

Charger, are you getting home care, etc? How did this happen? We all wish we had magic wands so we could make it heal instantly! Maybe a little fairy will come to your door on Halloween who could cast a magic spell!
How do you spend your time? TV? Reading? Any newly acquired hobbies?
