My brother-in-law died this morning, husband of my second-oldest sister.
He had esophageal cancer, diagnosed just about a year ago - went through surgery and many rounds of treatments, but it just didn't cut it.
He got taken to the hospital on the weekend, and had not been conscious since then.

I'm numb, I think - and it's hard to not keep crying; it just doesn't seem real that he is gone, and I'm just heartbroken for my sister and their kids and grandkids.

My sister is 10 years older than me, same age as her husband (and my husband) - they were childhood sweethearts and got married in 1972. When my sister retired from teaching several years ago, he took early retirement from his job as an IT specialist (civilian) with the police service here - they have travelled, and have been enjoying their children and grandchildren. Their three kids and their families all live here.

So, cancer sucks - and a whole bunch of other swears...
Hugs... Yes all the swear words!

My doctor was booking appointments for next week, so I went to my alternate clinic. I saw the same doctor for the third time in 2.5wks. I just saw the doctor and started antibiotics. She saw me a week ago and said I'd be fine because it was just a virus. Boy was she ever wrong. I keep having dizzy spells several times a day. This sinus thing has really messed up my ears and has started to spread to my throat. My blood pressure is low, 100/60, which is just about normal for me. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in so that I can quit mouth breathing at night. my head hurts something fierce.

Baby girl's tonsils are a normal colour now, but still large. She is also running a fever and cut a molar over the weekend. They still has 3 days left of antibiotics. She was up several times last night.

I saw on my Sobeys pharmacy receipt that I now have enough points to redeem for a $100gc and still have some points leftover. I plan on taking advantage of some NF sales. I have 100pts/$1 spent on pork, so it gives me an extra reason to pick up some ribs. I'll probably pick up a few other things. I'll try to go Tuesday of Wednesday during the day.

Natalka: I am so sorry for your loss my prayers are with you & your family.
I am a little worried about all they colds mentioned here that are worse than a cold. DH had a man cold last week (still has it) and has shared it with both myself and the older teen & we are living off Advil cold & flu as we both have the sinus headache. I really don't want to go to the doctor as that usually results in strep though for one of us. I also have a stupidly busy week at work so its the worst time to be less than 100%.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Ginger is supposed to help clear up your sinuses. Regular saline drops can help some too. Since I take my daily injection blood thinner, I have to be cautious not to eat or take anything that has blood-thinning side effects. I'm still nursing our twins, so I also have to keep that in. Mind when looking for treatments.

Thank you for your concern. The dizzy spells aren't fun, I'm pretty cautious to lean against a wall or sit in a chair when a dizzy spell hits. The doctor said that both of my ear drums are bulging, which is causing balance issues and dizziness. She thinks my blood pressure might be playing a factor, but I think it has little to do with it. I'm being careful to stay hydrated and I've been having extra salt since the dizziness started. Before this sinus thing started, dizzy spells were not a common occurrence for me.

-watch ashlyn on Wednesday -weather is so nice here gonna get her outside then sat or sunday gonna babysit Sebastian for daughter/hubby so they can take in a show in the afternoon
-hung a load out on line -my sheets smelt divine from the line last night -so I slept better
-not getting groceries yet -stretching the time out a bit farther inbetween groceries -using stuff up in freezer and cupboards

Off in 20 mins to pick up DS.
Home to make homemade burgers on the bbq. Making extras for leftovers for my hungry boys for tomorrow (my youngest will take a cold burger in his lunch )
Then sort some laundry. May do it tonight.
Taking out ribs from freezer tonight and we are trying them in the crockpot tomorrow for the 1st time.
Cleaning the livingroom tomorrow night so we can put the tree up on the weekend.
