I used my AMEX to purchase a $50 Amazon gift certificate. Amazon has a promo for an extra $10 credit when you spend $50 on gift certificates. (I used promo code 1116GIFTCA, that I found by clicking the Ad banner on Amazon and takes up to 3 days to appear on account.) Since I was expecting to spend $40 on a new Brita faucet attachment anyway, paying $25 for a $50 gift card was well worth it.

Is this promo code still valid is it just if you use your Amex?

I think it is valid until Nov 24, and the $10 credit is an amazon promotion, not linked to AMEX. I think you have to be signed into your amazon account to view the details. I found the code by clicking on a banner while I was logged in browsing around on the site.
