Just have a fast question, was wondering if anyone here uses essential oils, and if they do what do they think of them, and what kind you use. A friend came to me and asked me if I ever thought of using essential oils for some of my symptoms, so just wondering what you guys thought, and if you do, what kind do you use and maybe what brand. He sells Doterra Oils...

I use them! I have Eucalyptus for when I`m sick with a cold and Lavender for night time to sleep.
I get mine from a health food store here in the GTA , the brand I have is Aroma Force (Googling the image, apparently well.ca sells them)
Doterra I remember hearing they aren`t that potent with true "essentials"

I use tea tree essential oil for treating infections, as it can be applied directly on the skin. Most of the time I use a diffuser where I put a mix of oils depending on my mood. If I've got a cold coming, I'll use eucalyptus. I've seen a recipe somewhere to make a DIY version of Vick's vapo rub, that uses eucalyptus. Nadia G from in' Kitchen recently had a video on Facebook for DIY facial oil where she added her own mix of essential oils to the carrier oil.
Like Darla said, do your research. Even though some oils can be applied directly to the skin, some are irritants and shouldn't be used neat. Lemon essential oil is one of them that's photosensitive, i.e. if exposed to the sun within 24 hours, you'll get a rash or serious sunburn.
