    Happy New Year to one and all! Wishing everyone a healthy, wealthy and happy New Year. Well, i woke this morning and said ``I made it!`` 2017........ every morning is a gift and i am very thankful.

    We were getting ready to go to son`s house for Lasagna for lunch. It snowed overnight and we had about 6 centimeters of snow. Hubby cant shovel because he has a sore hip (maybe this year he will have his hip replacement), so i shoveled the walkway and said the hell with shoveling the driveway! I backed the car out of the driveway onto the road to clean the car off. Our neighbour across the street came over with his snowblower and cleaned our driveway. I am so extremely grateful for that!

    At son`s house, there were 5 adults and 5 kids; we had lasagna, garlic bread, cesar salad. Dessert was Tarte aux Sucre (homemade sugar pie), Nanaimo Bars (homemade) and cherry squares (homemade). All so delicious!

    And then the drama started! The 7 and 8 year old boys decided they were going to play hockey in the living room with their mini hockey sticks and a nerf ball. Boys being boys. The 8 year old got the mini hockey stick on the bridge of his nose right between the eyes! You should have seen the blood! Just a little cut but lots of blood. my daughter was freaking out, the 3 girls were screaming and the other Grandson was crying that it was an accident. So grandma came to the rescue, got a facecloth, stopped the bleeding, applied a bit of vaseline to the cut and calmed everyone down. Poor Shawn will have 2 black eyes tomorrow; i told him he will look like a raccoon. He is ok with a small cut. And so he survived New Years Day! And so did we.
