MergeCorp was the holding name for the proposed merger of Horizon Utilities with Enersource and Powerstream. The new official name of the new entity on Feb. 1, 2017 will be Alectra.

Your electricity and/or water/sewer bills will also change to monthly billing in 2017.
Each community will retain a local office for some years after the new entity comes into existence.

Not sure if I like the monthly bills but they would be cut in half soooooo it might not be so bad I might actually have money for groceries

It is costing them about a million to change to monthly billing with extra meter reads, mailing, processing etc
The city were against it since Horizon already offers monthly equal billing but it came down from the province to help us 'manage the higher costs'
Pity we can't put the $$ towards lower costs
