I don't know if I already mentioned this, but I bought a Marc angelo pork tenderloin, I wouldn't normally buy these but they had a $4.00 off and it was expiring in a few days, anyways the package said $10.00, so I thought not bad for $6.00, but when I got to the cash it scanned as $12.00, I mentioned that it was marked $10.00, the cashier said I can give it to you for $10.00, I said no it's free, he said no problem!! So I had a great jalapeño, chipotle pork dinner, some how I think it tasted great because it was free hahaha!!

You said it was tagged at $10....shelf label or directly on the product? If directly on the product, SCOP doesn't apply. So if that's the case, you got lucky there.

Oh, you right cats. If it is tagged on the product than that is the price. Products that have a sticker label indicating the price are also not eligible for SCOP, which usually includes clearance items.

So, for example if you were to find an item with a price sticker affixed to the item itself for $8.99, but when scanned it rungs up at $12.50, SCOP would not apply because it does not apply to products that are individually labelled with a price. You would most likely pay the lower price of $8.99.

(I had to look that up just to make sure.)

A lot of the time customer service reps don't know the rules of SCOP!

    Interesting!

What if the shelf label and the product label both say $8.99 but when scanned, it rings up at $12.50?

Product label trumps in this case as well. You should get it for $8.99, but not for free.

Yeah, it wasn't changed by them, this is the price that is automatically put on the package. So it was marked with a big red sticker $10.00 then the $4.00 coupon from them, so this counts as a SCOP!! It's only if they reduced it, like giant tiger, and the cashier forgets to put the new price in, you don't get a SCOP for those.
