It is a monthly mail out and we just use it to our benefit. We tend to go often lately (it is our fun outing/adult time) but seem to be very lucky lately

I'm working on the long application for a third school division. I spoke with two people from their school division office this morning and learned more about their hiring process. They are already preparing for job interviews. We are willing to move if I get a full-time teaching contract somewhere else. Dh has the ability to transfer within his company.

I went over our expenses for January and we spent a lot of groceries, but the freeer is now full again. I'm currently at the Family Centre with our twins. We attended the 20min class and then I let them play for an hour before we pick my son up from Pre-K. I'm taking them all shopping with me at the CO-OP across town. They'll get free stuff from each department and we'll pick up a few things on sale. Bread, hash browns, milk

Sibling made nachos for lunch yesterday-good way to use up leftover cooked taco meat (though I'm not really in agreement with seasoning mixes from kits anymore-MSG and some strong seasonings) and shredded cheese with tortilla chips and parchment paper on a sheet pan. He also made burritos to take for work and left me a few burritos for dinner.

Mom had some things to wrap today and I'm glad I have a couple of other wrapping paper rolls on hand when she ran out of her roll of paper. So I made a list of what items on hand still are available in her packaging drawer and a list of items to get so she's ready and updated for next time.

I have to get a couple of items for breakfast tomorrow. Got a message our electricity will be off on Thursday for a 3h period -so I'll have to go to the library for Internet access.

Checked three bills in the living room-hydro went up (it's $67 now), gas went up (Union Gas added $150 in charges relating to price adjustments for Dec.21-31 and Jan1-25-but equal billing plan is $81/mo) and $1308 is due to City for Feb. tax installment. I always check numbers so Dad cannot make claims that are bogus. Yes, we've had words about his leaving the lower basement heater on all the time (I kept turning it off)-he wants it on regardless of fact that hydro went up. He'll cry poverty in a week when it comes to the bill payment dates. I have not seen the current water/sewer bill from Horizon Utilities (now Alectra). I saw the Bell phone bill and know the monthly rate went up on Feb.1.

No contest success stories as yet-had hoped to win a Pier 1 card in recent contest to get a new armchair for living room. The swivel chair seems to shed surface inches by the week.

Looked at the upcoming sale flyers. Not much for me really but I could spend $50+ at SDM. Thinking I will then I will have 3 full redemptions ready to use.

Calling for lots of snow and blowing tomorrow. It better not be another snow day!

Tonight I will putter in the kitchen a bit. Feed everyone, prep breakfast and lunch for tomorrow. Clean the kitchen.
Then put a load of laundry on at 7pm. Fold and put away the load I washed late last night.
Take a Rubbermaid bin from spare room and post stuff for sale. I will soon have tons of empty Rubbermaid bins! Then I can really organize the basement.
I cleaned out my purse on the weekend. Such a pile of coupons/paper I tossed. I have a Ziploc bag full of change that I have been spending ($store, coffee, few grocery items) I need some "girly" wrapping paper for my nieces bday gifts. I have wrapped in in blue boy stuff the past 2 years. Think I will buy a roll tomorrow

Every time I see the gas or hydro bill I am scared to open it. So far they haven't changed much for me (and I am happy that I had the heat at an all time low the past week so hoping to see a nice low bill next month!)

Is your hydro bill only $67 a month?

My heart palpitates when I open my hydro bill as they are usually just under $200 because I'm rural and delivery fees alone are $80+

My man just told me we are under a squall warning now. He wants to know why mother nature hates him (he is getting tired of snowblowing/shoveling)

I picked a few things up at CO-OP.
$2.07 Pork back bone strips regular, previously frozen - 75c coupon = $1.32 for just over 1lb
I haven't bought or cooked with this cut before, but I figured I couldn't really go wrong with that price.

I had our three young children with me, so they got free stuff from the various departments around the store. Oatmeal cookies, fruit-to-go bars, little popper toys, suckers, heart shaped Valentine chocolates.

Came home to beautiful roses and 2 cards lol. He liked both so I got both. We will make a nice pasta dinner Friday night with wine. DS loves that pasta too so he will be happy.

Kitchen is clean. Oatmeal made for breakfast. Just made DS a strawberry smoothie for dessert. Had 2 pick up tonight. Total $ put in my crap sold jar since last Wednesday $120. So $180 in my summer fun jar! And I have a pick up for $15 on Saturday.
Just put a load of wash on and now I'm going to grab 2 bins to post for sale. I'm motivated!

The Hydro bill is a very scary thing especially since we heat with electric. I recently heard they looked into other options for our complex but the cost of getting natural gas run into out complex would make your head spin. So needless the say when all the numbers were crunch by the time the complex pays for for natural gas to be run in plus they factored in people switching basic appliances (water heater, furnace installation) plus rising natural gas prices it would be year before anyone saw the benefit.

If I remember correctly I believe our last bill was around $350 which is actually lower then past years for this time of year.
