I was inspired by a great couponer, 2010ontest, and I decided to start a thread each week about my shooping of the week (Monday to Saturday)

    Métro

    1x Bag of 2 zucchinis = 3.58$ (so expensive !)
    1x Bag of 3 tomatoes = .99$
    2x Lean Cuisine @ 3.99$ - 2x FPC printable from Facebook (me & mom) = FREE
5x Selection juice 1 L @ .99$ - 5x FPC printable from Facebook (QC offer, 5 diff. UPC, one per Facebook account) = FREE

    Total : 4.57$

But, since we can enter the pin in the Lean Cuisine rewards AND the Stouffers rewards..

    1 pin = 500 Lean Cuisine pts & 10$ SDM GC = 7500 Lean Cuisine pts

So each pin is worth 0.64$ AND like I said we can also enter them in the Stouffers rewards.. 22 pins = 10$ giftcard So each pin is worth 0.45$.. total of 1.09$ per pin entered !

    - 2x pin (1.09$ each)

    OOP : 2.39$

    Super C

    1x Bag of green grapes @ 1.44$/lb = 3.27$
    1x Eggo waffles (8 ct.) @ 2$ = 2$

    - 5$ gas card

    OOP : 0.27$

    Loblaws

    1x Ground horse 1.058 kg @ 9.32$ - 30% pink sticker = 6.52$
    2x Kraft Dinner Smart @ 1$ - 2x coupon .75$ = .50$

    - 5$ gas card

    OOP : 2.02$

    Maxi

    1x Package of Bologna 950 g @ 5$ = 5$
    1x Kraft Velveeta 24 slices @ 4.97$ = 4.97$ (expensive but I needed them)

    - 5$ gas card
    - 4.97$ gas card

    OOP : FREE

    Dollorama

    1x Sliced bread @ 1$ = 1$
    2x Cans of BBQ sauce @ 2/1.25$ = 1.25$

    OOP: 2.25$

Big total at this week price = 46.31$ (regular price is higher)
Coupons, FPCs, gas card, pins value and pink sticker = 39.38$
    Big oop = 6.93$

For the rest I use my stockpile !

I don't think you'll find it for sale in Ontario supermarkets (though I once saw it on the menu at the Black Hoof restaurant on Dundas and I was really weirded out), but different strokes for different folks, as they say.

The Toronto Star had an interesting article on it recently:

Maxi & Loblaws sell ground horse, so maybe others store like RCSS sell it too, since they are all under Loblaws banner ?? Metro in QC sell ground horse too..

Personally I think that the taste is better than others ground meat, but it's my opinion.. There is almost not fat in the pan when you cook it ! So it's perfect for me, because It's more difficult for me to digest the fat.. Even the extra lean ground beef is to much fatty for me..

Some people won't since horse, because they said that they consider them like cats or dogs.. It's a personal choice I think..

I would like to say that it's not because I eat horse that I don't like them or something like that.. I love all the animals ! lol Pigs are cute, but we all ate some ground pork in our life, no ??..

    Nice brag Cocottee00!

I see ground horse all the time at the grocery store, it's not something new, maybe it's more seen in Quebec than elsewhere?

Footage was snuck out of a Quebec meat processing plant that kills innocent horses. I was horrorstruck at what I saw.Horses are NOT to be eaten. The very idea of that is repulsive.

Thanks for the breakdown on the rewards! I think I might have to start collecting those pins!

I have yet to see horse in bc but there is nothing wrong with eating it! Im pretty sure all the cows, pigs, chickens etc. that are killed everyday for people to eat are just as "innocent" as the horses! To each their own

Really ?? Several people here talks to me like if am a MONSTER because I eat horse ! OK, kill me right now, because I eat horse ! Like I said before, I CAN'T eat almost any others ground meat, because even the extra lean ground beef are too fatty for me, I can't digest fat ! It's okay to eat ground veal, but not horse ?? They take away a baby from his mother, and we don't talk about it.. We all eat differents things, and I don't judge others people by what they eat.. I understand that we all have a different opinion, that's why if I post my brag again, I will not write that I have bought horse. Thanks to be respectful
