during the $1 sales a week or 2 ago, my mother got me a raincheck for fries and fudge sticks.
i went to the store a couple times looking for the items but i never find them.
so yesterday, i went to customer service to ask what was up.
i was told that they don't regularly carry those items.
and the rainchecks were only given out to keep customers happy - because they were getting upset that rainchecks weren't being given out for these items.
can someone please explain the logic to me here?
i am more annoyed now, being told the raincheck was given to save face, without the intention of being honored, than i would have been if they told me no rainchecks.This thread is currently associated with: Real Canadian Superstore RCSSIf you'd like to open a Tangerine bank account, why not use my orange key

oh, i think i would have had to speak to a manager at that point. there should be some way for them, to give you a similar item (brand or size) for the same prince. if they were items they don't usually sell they shouldn't have given out rainchecks. other stores advertise things like 'while supplies last' or 'special purchase' (i'm sure there are others but i'm tired) for those type of items, and customer service does not give out rainchecks for itmes with those labels. i would advise you to act quickly, thier rainchecks are only good for 30 days, then they don't have to honour it.

This has happened to me at Sobey's before. They offered to keep extending the raincheck until the products came in for another sale but after several extensions I just gave up.

speak to a manager, if you don't get any satasfaction, call the head office, which is usually the 1800 # on the flyer. they are not treating you fairly. i think they want customers to give up, so they don't have to deal with them.

i think i will call.
i was going to give up and just be annoyed, but i may as well see if they will do anything.
i still can't believe what the girl said about these.

Superstore store coupons have a 30 expiry however, several stores don't bother and let you use it anyways. Braemar and Cole Harbour for sure take them after expiry.

I would definitely call and complain about this! If they gave rainchecks out, it's because there's supposed to be product coming "eventually"...if it was a special purchase, or while quantities last item, then they should not have given them out...and her answer to you to "keep customers happy'" is unacceptable and should not be tolerated! Call and voice your opinion, get them to make you happy!!!

Speak to a Manager. At my local Superstore, they happily substituted a similar item as they only brought in that specific size/brand for that sale.
