Zellers Video games and dvd deals Feb 17-23

This weeks flyer has games deals, not great mind you, but I'll share anyways.

Buy 1 get other 1/2 off on all value priced games $29.99 and under.
25% off all Ubisoft software.

Side note:
$5.99 dvds are buy 2 get 1 free=$4.00 each+taxes.

Zellars will be closed in a year and always has horrible deals on video games.

Don't give this joint a penny. If anything take the zellars flyer and pricematch it somewhere else. ANYWHERE else. Bestbuy, Futureshop, etc.

Zellars does not pricematch, has very old games at full price.

And is still to this day pressuring people to signup for the HBC mastercard.




If anything wait until Zellars liquidates. Even then they will still probably want top dollar for games not worth $0.50 on a trade in. (fail)

While I too am not a fan of Zellers, i don't comprehend the level of hate emenating from the previous post...

First... it's Zellers (with an E)...

Second... Zellers DOES price-match. They were one of the first (if not THE first) retailer in Canada to start it.



Third... an HBC card is good at all HBC brand stores, (The Bay, Home Outfitters) not just Zellers... and a Mastercard is good pretty much anywhere. So why not promote it?



Lastly, the aforementioned Best Buy, Future Shop, Walmart, Target, etc are all US-owned companies. Spending your money at Zellers now is at the very least, still putting it in the hands of a Canadian based company, HBC

Touchy touchy. Its merely an opinion. Shop anywhere you wish.
But I know first hand they do not pricematch video games.

And when ZELLERS did they made it such a hassle.

This company had its chance and failed horribly.

The 50% facebook fiasco over the xmas holidays highlights this.

Disorganized and does not communicate policies, discounts etc down to its front line employees so customers have to fight with them.

But like I said shop where you want. The U.S. companies understand customer service and thus flourish. Bring on Target. (WIN)

I don't care about whether profits go to a Canadian millionaire/billionaire or a U.S. millionaire/billionaire. There's no difference to me. Walmart and other U.S.-based stores employ Canadians, just as Zellers does. I go to Zellers very rarely and it's always extremely difficult to find anyone to help. Seems they don't really care about helping the customer. I worked for Walmart for a year, a few years ago and customer service is a high priority when you are trained for the job.

Free enterprise is wonderful. It weeds out the companies that can't keep up or don't make the effort to keep up (with competitive prices and service).

In regards to price matching it somewhere. Other stores may not pricematch the item because the exact Price is not stated. It only says "Value software 29.99 and under" and doesn't say which specific one. This is just based on my experience with Walmart. I don't know with Futureshop, Bestbuy etc... There's no harm in trying. Goodluck!
