Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a prepaid cellphone. I want something like a Virgin or Rogers where I can buy a year of pre-paid credit for $100 and then a phone for about $60.

I am interested in any sales at the moment and also where I can collect points when I buy it.

    TIA

7-11 has the best deal imo

Free phone with purchase of $100 airtime minutes which dont expire for 365 days. I think they also give you a $25 bonus for purchasing the $100 minutes.

Zellers sells both the Virgin and Rogers. I've used both and prefer Virgin. You get a live person to talk to when needed -- Rogers you had to push multiple buttons and talk to a prerecorded voice (very frustrating).

Look into the Petro Canada offer as well.. Information is on their web site .You can use points to purchase a phone, and minutes I believe.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I went out and bought one.

I got the Speak Out 7-eleven (it uses a major phone company as a carrier). I bought:

    $100 talk time cost $100+taxes
$90 phone less $74 = $16+taxes (they have an offer on where you get the cheapest phone for free or a better phone they give you $74 off when you buy $100 top-up card)

This cost me $129.92 including taxes

The phone comes with $30 credit when you activate it. So I now have $130 of credit available and a brand new phone that takes pictures.

The best bargain is that next year when I need to top-up, I can get $25 credit and it is valid for a year (I only use my phone for emergencies). So the operating costs of my phone will go down to $25 year or $2.08 month!

We have the PC one -- at Christmas time they ussually have the deal with the car charger and regular charger etc and $10.00 coupon for minutes and a 10.00 for Loblaws....its 25.00 for 120 minutes that last two months and can carry over if you don't use all

I've looked around too, and find that 7-11 has the better deal. My friend bought from PC before, the phone was about $75, and he bought an additional $30 airtime, so it wasn't that good of a deal as 7-11
