I have taken on the challenge of making laundry detergent to better control the use of chemicals in my home and also to save a little $$$ in the process.

Using the recipe I found on the site below, I will need to find Pure Castile Soap, Super Washing Soda, Baking Soda, and Kosher, Epsom or Celtic Sea Salt. While I don't see a problem finding Baking Soda or Epsom Salt, I will have to dig a little to find Super Washing Soda and Pure Castile Soap.

I have contacted Arm & Hammer directly to see which retailers in or around North Bay might carry the Super Washing Soda. I have also contacted used Dr Bronner's store locator (found following the link below) to track down the Pure Castile Soap.

Has anyone in North Bay tried this? I am interested in using vegetable based products as found in Dr Bronner's Pure Castile Soap. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not in North Bay but...I order most of my supplies for my laundry detergent from well.ca They have so much! Let me know if you want a referral code for $10 off, $40. I have one kicking around.

You can buy washing soda in the laundry aisle of your grocery store. I find that because no one buys it, it is so clumpy. So I plurge and get the simply clean brand at well.ca I used to grate bars of soap to make the laundry detergent. Now I just buy soap flakes (again from well.ca). I buy no name kosher salt at the grocery store for like $0.99. Super cheap.
