Time to have a thread to corral information on the games coming to Toronto and parts of Ontario in July & August!
The main website for information on the games: http://www.toronto2015.org/news

For those in the Toronto-area who know someone who might like a job with the Toronto 2015 organization, there are some positions closing this month (one closes tomorrow). Please note that some positions may be geared to 18-29 yr olds under a youth employment initiative:

    http://www.toronto2015.org/employment-opportunities

If you are subscribed to the We've Been Expecting You monthly newsletter, you saw that online training modules went live on April 9. Anyone can register on the site to access the modules online. http://wbeytoronto.ca/

The City of Toronto has a portal for Games information for residents:

    @Shwa Girl , @torontogal12 , @walkonby : are you ready? @Anna Michele , @coupongirl , @theweave , @FallenPixels , @Anastasia 1008 : will Hamilton be ready for the soccer games?

I live across the street from the Pan Am Stadium in Hamilton for soccer. I can see the games from my bedroom window! Can't wait! If anyone knows of links in regards to Hamilton, please post. Thanks.

My family is also avoiding this like the plague. If only we can just magically disappear for when this whole thing is around, and then re-appear once it's all over.

I'd like to see some of the events but when $$ are available. Hamilton supposedly had a grants program for cultural groups that applied before the end of March for money to offer programs/entertainment during the games.

This is all I can find on the Tourism Hamilton website for the games:
    http://www.tourismhamilton.com/panam

I know the City of Hamilton had a meeting with residents near the CIBC stadium/Tim Horton's field to discuss parking/road closures/permit system about two weeks ago.

From the City of Hamilton site (the new website):
    http://preview.hamilton.ca/attractio...-pan-am-games/

Cool-Ottawa Street will become an International Food court! That's awesome!

I'm at Turner Park library getting some online time in. It's a beautiful day outside!

Maybe you can check out the Ital Vital resto in your area before the games and report on how interesting the vegan food is. I wish I could eat some today! I definitely need to visit Scarborough this summer and visit outside of the Scarborough Town Centre!

I'd be dining alone if it is a vegan restaurant, no one here will indulge at an establishment like that.

I'd give the restaurant a go but likely would find a bakery later for some dessert!

During the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games, the events of boxing and weightlifting will be held at the General Motors Centre in the downtown.

You'll be thrilled to know that the furnishings for the athlete's village will be sold off after the two games conclude. Here's your advance notice in case you need a washer, sofa, bean bag chair or more:
