awwww... shucks folks, ty very much.....it is just that, well I was so embarrassed that I even listened to the caller at all, as I say I usually just hang up the minute someone says I have won something, or I've qualified for something.
My own gullible acceptance of booking that appt. got me worried, that was why I went ahead and contacted Enbridge myself.
Hopefully now any others that are contacted this way in my area will have a heads up to hang up!

Anytime I get a call like this one I lie and say my equipment is new and the caller will hang up. I feel badly for the people that actually let these people into their homes.

Never let anyone come in to check your equipment's serial number. Only if your utility sends the letter indicating why stuff has to be looked at and who will do work (maybe a contractor). Property owners can ask someone to leave their property so work that to your benefit if you get someone at your door wanting entry.
Enbridge bought out Spectra last month? Spectra is parent corp. to Union Gas.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Good for you for being vigilant, walker. Too bad more people aren't more suspicious of the goings on around them, then perhaps we'd hear about far fewer stories about scams taking place. When they come to my door I just point to the no soliciting sign and ask them if they can read. The usual response is 'we're not selling anything.' *facepalm* If I don't recognize the phone number calling I just don't pick up. If it's important and legit then feel free to leave a message, I will call back. 99% of the time it's a telemarketer.
