Holy cow. They surely can't do this redemption weekend too often or they would go belly up.

Yes, I got three books today and one yesterday. I love reading so I am in heaven on bonus redemption day. I wish they had a larger selection or I would have probably got more.
And she have me some perfume sample and skin care samples too, which was a bonus. I always pay at the cosmetic area.

Surely they've done studies on this to see if the costs justify the program, but I've often wondered if they make enough off me to justify giving me $150+ in free stuff on a fairly regular basis. I've redeemed for that amount at least three or four times that I can remember, and at least two of those times were for bonus redemptions where I got an additional $20-$50 in free stuff.
For me, probably a third of my points comes from gift card purchases. If I'm going to buy anything at all, it's a given that I buy a gift card for that amount first. I've even got my non-bargain-savvy husband trained to do that! In addition to essentially doubling my points on most purchases, it also enables me to get points on things that otherwise wouldn't be eligible - bus passes for example. Between my husband, my mother and I, I buy a gift card for $162 each month just for our bus passes and get over 1600 points each month, 16000 each year.
I also buy lotto there with gift cards, and any other items we might need. Nearly nothing is purchased there if it's not on sale or with a coupon.
Another third is prescriptions. Mine are covered 100% by insurance, but they give full points anyhow. My husband has to pay for his up front and get reimbursed later, but he buys a gift card to pay for them, earns points that way and on the prescription itself.
The last third is probably just regular purchases and bonus points.
I wonder if, despite the fact that they're generally more expensive than other places, are they really making any money off me? I hope not! heehee.

Yes, I have to get in the habit of buying the gift cards before I purchase. I cannot believe I was so stupid and forgot.

OK, I'm really new to the SDM points program and this is probably a really dumb question but why buy the gift cards to purchase items? Do you get more points from the gift cards? Thanks for the tip by the way - any other ones?? LOL!

If you buy a $50 GC, it equals to 500 points, but it is only on SDM GC's and then you get points when you buy with your GC, great haul courtreporter.

Yes, you get points when you purchase a gift card, so it is an easy way of getting extra points.

Did you use coupons during that redemption too? $200 seems like a lot.

Awesome redemption! Definite thumbs up! What type of perfume is that up top?

great shopping. I pays to shop and be mindful of points at Shoppers. I am collecting to get to 75,000 and then I'll redeem. Thanks for all the suggestions.
